107/2007: The Rapture of Jesus
Summary: Collection of Paintings with Jesus‘ eyes cast skywards

Description: Back in 2007, I went to the library looking for pictures of Jesus nailed to the cross. The depiction of Jesus was, surprisingly, usually with Jesus looking down. I must have gone through hundreds if not thousands of pictures, before coming up with this list of images here of Jesus gazing skywards.

One may have noticed all these paintings are of a particular style and all of them were painted before the 1900s - I have omitted all works which were in a style too contemporary or abstract in my opinion to convey the Rapture in the same way a classical traditional painting. A modern painter would be even less likely to be as god-fearing or religious.
